Frederic De Pardieu : The Koh Phangan app publishers as well as some of other client’s apps are based on commercial model. The app is distributed for free and our clients sell advertising, sponsored links, coupons & vouchers within the application to local businesses. From what we’ve seen, they seem to be very successful with this business model.



Travel And Tour World: How far has mtrip succeeded in generating revenue with travel app and grab the attention of tour operators & travel agencies?

Frederic De Pardieu : mTrip started as a consumer application targeting every type of traveler. With 2.5 million downloads as well as the multiple awards and press coverage caught the attention of the travel industry which leader to the launch of our B2B solutions starting with tourism boards and DMO and more recently Tour Operators. The first tour operators who launched their applications powered by mTrip were Exotissimo, a major inbound operator in Asia and Travel Leaders Group, America’s largest travel agency company.



Travel And Tour World: What has been the response of travelers conducting tours guided by mtrip apps?

Frederic De Pardieu : We don’t have a direct feedback from end-users on the B2B side; however, our own customers seem really satisfied. For our consumer apps, the feedback is great; users are really excited about planning their trip with the Trip Genius and are very thankful to use the offline navigation when walking around at destination.

Frederic De Pardieu : As avid travelers ourselves, we continually invest in research and development in order to come up with advanced features and new ways to plan trips and enjoy a destination to its best. We definitely have a lot in store for the future but for now it’s a secret!

Frederic De Pardieu : Over the years, technology has led to better-informed travelers (more content available, more up-to-date content, influence of social networks) with better tools to maximize their experience on their trips (trip planners, special offers, local tips, guidance at destination).



Travel And Tour World: In the coming years how do you plan to expand the arena of mtrip?

Frederic De Pardieu : In the coming years, we will continue to focus on the added value we can bring to travelers and to our business partners by investing in research and development. Moreover, we plan to continue expanding in the travel industry with solutions for other segments such as the hotel and hospitality industry while increasing our internationalization through our expanding partner network.
