Here Mr. Jay Kantawala, who is a veteran in travel and tourism business, shares his experiences and his vision with Travel And Tour World to make tourism more affordable and customer friendly with his new concept of travelling technology what WIYO projects.

Travel And Tour World – What made you to bring this new company?

Mr. Jay Kantawala: After working for over 12 years with different companies, I launched WIYO Travel in the year 2006 to cater to customized travel segment and tailor made holidays. During my tenure with different companies, I felt that I had restrictions to use my skills in planning and executing due to various constraints of a job. Main reason to start WIYO Travel was to give clients true experiences of a destination and not just a tick on their list of destinations.

 

 

 

Travel And Tour World – Please share your business strategy.

Mr. Jay Kantawala: We have been focussed on offering travel experiences to our client and would continue to do the same.


There have been several changes the way people plan their trip, offers on the internet or by different players of the industry.


We try and maintain our service levels and give client a complete experience of the destination rather than just a standard program.

 

 

Travel And Tour World: What is your business plan for responsible and sustainable tourism?

Mr. Jay Kantawala: We have taken an initiative to promote Kenya Private conservancies. These conservancies are located around the main parks and generate development for villages as they get employment as a Camp Staff or guide etc.


These camps are located in the private conservancies also assist the development of the village and its people.


For India we suggest encourage have started encouraging our clients to use electronic tickets and service confirmations to reduce the use of paper. In addition we recommend the clients to visit rural areas and support local artisans and villagers, this gives them income.

 

 

Travel And Tour World: What makes WIYO unique from other travel solution companies?

Mr. Jay Kantawala: WIYO stands for World Is Your Oyster, the company was founded in 2006 to cater to clients wishing to experience places and have their dream holiday rather than just visit a place as a normal tourist and tick mark a place in their list.


We understand our client’s interest and requirements and make suggestions accordingly to suit their preferences and budget.


We also give complete local support while on the trip and the concerned staff is available on call if required in addition to local partners.


We are in regular touch with the client from inquiry till completion and post completion of the trip.

 

 

Travel And Tour World: What is your drive in making familiarity to the travellers in the field of technology?

Mr. Jay Kantawala: So we have a concept of ‘Travel Real’ So have always emphasised that travel is not about how many places you can cover in shortest duration of time, it is about memories you create from your journeys.


With the changing trends in the travel industry, we worked and conceptualized anew website in second half of 2015, the site took over a year to create.


We have finally managed to create a completely dynamic website for our customized tours. Our clients can customize the activities and hotels from our database for most Indian Packages as of now.


We are currently working on creating a tool for our customers to create their own India trips. Our site is simple to use and gives a user experience to our customers.


We are constantly trying to improve our site and user experience on our site. We will also work on adding air booking engine at a later stage along with live hotel inventory.
