American Airlines filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation for the right to fly 17 additional U.S. – Brazil weekly frequencies later this year.

American said it will use these frequencies to add service from its Miami and New York – JFK hubs to cities in Brazil. American proposes to increase its current service between JFK and Sao Paulo, as well as between Miami and Rio de Janeiro.
