Italian TV presenters Emerson Gattafoni and Valeria Cagnoni have been filming along the Wild Atlantic Way for two episodes of their award-winning travel programme Dreams Road, with support from Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The show – which regularly attracts about 1.3 million viewers – follows the presenters as they explore destinations around the world by motorbike, with a particular focus on the local culture, art, music, history and, of course, the spectacular scenery. The show airs on Rai 1, Italy’s most popular television channel, and is currently in its 15th season.
Filming took place at various locations in counties Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal.
Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager in Italy, said: “We were delighted to invite the presenters of Dreams Road to film along the Wild Atlantic Way this week. Dreams Road is hugely popular here in Italy, with more than 1 million viewers per episode – so this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the West of Ireland, inspiring viewers to come and explore the landscapes and locations which will feature in the two Ireland episodes for themselves.”
