One of the biggest media campaigns of the Nepal Tourism Board was inaugurated on Monday. It will be run in collaboration with three famous agencies with global outreach to enhance tourism of the region.
More than $ 1 million will be spent behind broadcast and disseminating information by the tourism promotional body of Nepal by utilizing popular media outlets like BBC World, Reuters, and TripAdvisor. This was the first ever consumer media campaign set up to attract overseas visitors from the above mentioned three agencies at the same time.
Reuters is based in London and BBC World is the international news and current affairs television channel generating more than 76 million weekly viewership. TripAdvisor provides reviews on travel content with 390 million visitors every month.
To quote Deepak Raj Joshi, chief executive officer of the NTB, ‘The destination Nepal promotional partnership with these three reputed agencies is aimed at disseminating and promoting Nepal through three means—print, broadcast and online.’
A 30-second video clip on destination Nepal will be aired in Europe, Asia and Asia-Pacific. A $680,000 contract has been signed by NTB for tenure of six months which would end in the month of September this year.
