Published on : Friday, February 24, 2017

unnamed (5)After a successful, inaugural event last year, Campbelltown Arts Centre will again host a free Earth Hour evening on Saturday, March 25, 2017, called ‘Caring for our Future’.Families are invited to join in celebrating 10 years of Earth Hour with the local community, including Aboriginal descendants of those who have been living sustainably on the land for tens of thousands of years.

This year’s event aims to “connect the community to the past and the present, and learn how to care for the future” through a number of free activities for all ages, including traditional dance, storytelling, hands-on artistic workshops and displays. Guests are then invited to sit around a fire pit under the night sky to listen to traditional Dreamtime stories and watch dance performances by local Aboriginal people during Earth Hour, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Earth Hour began in 2007 as an Australian grassroots movement, and has since grown into the world’s biggest movement for climate change.
