A whopping 20 million international tourist will visit Dubai by 2020 as per the tourists bosses, in recent years the country saw an increase of tourist and the numbers are expected to surge higher as UAE is striving to be more tourist friendly.
The government is providing more support as such tourist will be exempted from value-added tax and the high number of figures is due to new tourists destinations.
In 2017, Dubai Tourism recorded 15.8 million overnight visitors in 2017 which saw a 6.2 per cent increase from 2016. The first quarter of 2018 saw 4.7 million international overnight visitors showing an increase of 2 percent from the same period last year.
By 2022 the UAE hospitality market is expected to reach $7.6 billion (£5.8 billion) which will be €5.1 billion (£3.9 million) more than 2017.
As per a report by Chesterton’s MENA the Airbnb rates are also soaring in the UAE and the revenues rose by 421 percent in Dubai between a period of August 2015 and August 2017.
There will be significant investments for the development of tourism and hospitality infrastructure that will include airport expansions to lead the handling capacity of the anticipated visitor inflow.
The drivers behind the growth are events like Expo 2020 Dubai and the tourism-friendly endeavours in Dubai that will include indoor amusement park IMG Worlds of Adventure, theme park Dubai Parks and Resorts and architectural landmark Dubai Frame.
Emirate’s tourism vision for 2020 as outlined by Visit Dubai states that tourism is a central pillar of Dubai’s economic growth and diversity. Dubai’s offering across events, attractions, infrastructures, services and packages will help in the expansion of the Tourism Vision for 2020
