Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and United Airlines together with the North American tourism advertiser Brand USA and regional tourist bureaus are jointly coordinating a total of eight familiarization (FAM) trips in different regions of the USA.
Under the slogan “eXperts on Tour“, 80 participants will be offered the possibility to explore different destinations in the USA during a one week seminar trip and get to know the airlines’ comprehensive product range. Until the 26th of June, employees from travel agencies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can take part in the online eXperts USA FAM trip quiz and apply for one of the 80 places. For those who are not yet registered for the eXperts program, you can register at any time free of charge at www.lufthansaexperts.com and take part in the raffle.
The seminar trip begins on the 15th of September in the Lufthansa Seeheim conference hotel with a kick-off event for all participants. Groups of 10 participants will then each leave for their respective destinations in the USA. This year the destinations are Tennessee, Florida, Virginia and Maryland, Seattle and Oregon, Nevada, Houston and Louisiana, California and Hawaii. The raffle decides who travels to which USA destination. Each FAM trip will be accompanied by employees from the Lufthansa Group and United Airlines as well as a representative of the region of destination. At the end of the trips all participants will meet at an event in Washington D.C. organized by Brand USA.
On flights of Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and United Airlines, the travel experts will have the opportunity to become familiar with the different travel classes. A new feature this year is that for the first time some will take the trip in rented cars and motorhomes.
