World’s one of the famous travel organizations advised on Monday that Donal Trump’s initiation to curb immigration could cause severe slump on US tourism where US currency is already stumbling. It is also being predicted that foreign visitors in US has the possibility of shrinking with a estimation of $1.2 billion or 0.6 percent of the total this year due to the rally of dollar against other currencies.
To quote David Scowsill, president and chief executive of the World Travel & Tourism Council, ‘’ the message that has gone out around the world is that the U.S. is effectively closing for business.’’
The temporary travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries imposed by the Trump administration on Jan. 27 was done in order to reduce the dangers of terrorist attacks on the U.S. However, this month, a modified version of the ban on barring entry for people from six countries was issued this month. To note, it got blocked by the judges in Hawaii and Maryland. Nevertheless, the White House has said that it will appeal those rulings whatsoever.
Tim Clark, president of Dubai-based Emirates Airline which the world’s largest carrier by international traffic, said that when Mr. Trump issued the travel ban in January of this year, the number of bookings to the U.S. had slowed right away which is yet to recover though.
