The 21c Museum Hotel is closing for a “deep clean” following the discovery Wednesday night that one of its guests, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert, was diagnosed with COVID-19 virus.

The team stayed at the hotel, 900 W Main, prior to the scheduled Jazz game against the Thunder, which was postponed before play could begin.

The hotel staff said that their priority is the safety of our team, our guests and our community. They are working with public health officials at the Oklahoma City Health Department to ensure that our employees and guests are informed, safe and well taken care of. Out of an abundance of caution, they are working to temporarily close our hotel so that we can complete a comprehensive, hotel-wide deep clean.

The Oklahoma City-County Health Department, meanwhile, will be reaching out to anyone who came into close contact with the individual. Hotel officials said health officials advised them the risk of transmission is low for those who have not been in close contact with this individual.

“Since the first cases of COVID-19 were reported in the US, the team has been vigilant in our efforts to maintain a safe, healthy environment for all who visit,” hotel officials said. “The hotel works with a global team of experts in hygiene and safety, heightening our already vigorous hygiene and prevention measures, with enhanced cleaning procedures and EPA-registered disinfection products with proven efficacy in killing respiratory viruses, including COVID-19.
