After the action-packed World Routes 2018 came to an end , Qui Jiachen, chairman of Guangzhou Baiyun International airport passed on the event to the David Ridgeway, minister for trade, tourism and investment, government of South Australia.
This was the first time the Australian city hosted the event and will showcase South Australia to the airline industry.
Further the 25th annual World Routes Development Forum will be hosted at Adelaide Showground by the South Australian Tourism Commission, Tourism Australia and Adelaide Airport.
Steven Small, brand director at Routes stated that Adelaide is a unique destination with a fast-growing economy and strong airport infrastructure making it the perfect city to host the forum.
The event will help South Australia’s to achieve their goal of an AUD$8 billion tourism industry by 2020 facilitated by the Adelaide’s air services.
Over the next 20 years aircraft movement is expected to grow by three percent while so far the passenger number remained more than 7.7 million in the last decade.
