This weekend, tourists coming to Philadelphia for enjoying their vacations will be able to see the Liberty Bell in spite of a partial federal government shutdown that closed several national parks all through the country.

Majority of the buildings in the Independence National Historic Park including Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell Center have been closed down since Saturday morning due to the partial shutdown.

For the tourists, that was a bad news and the city of Philadelphia, which sees the second highest attendance at the Liberty Bell at the weekends before New Year’s Day yearly.

Officials at tourism and marketing group Visit Philadelphia explain that they’re generously giving the park $32,000 to open Friday, Saturday and Sunday to let in the estimated 25,000 people who had planned to see the Liberty Bell this weekend.
