northernPassengers in Bolton will be facing fresh train strikes and only 30 percent trains will be operating on Saturday due to the existing dispute between the train firm Northern and the RMT union.

Those travelling to Liverpool to see the visit of the Giants will be facing problem. The large festival involves huge puppets that walk through the streets.

Liam Sumpter, regional director at Northern stated that due to the RMT strike action on Saturday, they will only be running a very limited service. Most of the trains to and from Liverpool will start after 8am and finish before 7pm.

The operating services will be extremely busy and the customers were asked to travel carefully and look for alternative means of travel to and from Liverpool.

The reduction of conductors on trains is the cause behind the dispute, which RMT believes calls for critical safety concern. So far the talks between the two parties have repeatedly broken down.

This Saturday will be the seventh strike action and two more are planned on October 13 and 20 respectively.
