The journalists – representing various regional radio stations, fitness magazines and a popular lifestyle blog, with a combined audience of more than 4.1 million – visited Dingle, where they enjoyed a ‘catch and cook’ class which involved a Dingle Bay Charters fishing trip, followed by a lesson on how to cook their catch at the Dingle Cookery School. Then they cycled from Dingle to the Blasket Island Centre. They also enjoyed a walking tour of Bray Head, a golf lesson at Waterville Golf Club, a sailing lesson in Derrynane and a night-time expedition to the Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve.
Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Central Europe, said: “We were delighted to invite these influential journalists to visit Kerry, to see for themselves the superb range of activities and stunning scenery in this part of Ireland. Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the German media of the many things to see and do on a holiday in Kerry and elsewhere around the island of Ireland.”
