5 killed in Amtrak crash in Colorado

amtrakFive people were killed in a major train crash when an Amtrak train collided with into a van in Colorado.


The driver and four passengers were killed however; one child survived the crash who was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in critical condition.


According to the reports, the crash happened on Las Animas County Road 32 which is about three miles north of Trinidad. The parents of the family of five who died were Christina and Steve Miller.


According to the authorities, the van was not stopped on the railroad tracks. The front of the train collided with the right side of the van and none of the 286 passengers and crew members were hurt. However, the train was damaged and need some repair before it could resume its journey.
