Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service had tweeted that the flames had actually spread all the way to the roof and crew have been trying their best to check the progress sof the fire after they had arrived around 6.30 a.m.
Fifteen appliances are at the building that has been evacuated.
The fire service mentioned that all people are accounted for at the scene of the incident.
They have also added that there have been no injuries as it stands.
It has also asserted that the cause of the fire is yet to be established. Police has said that transport would be ‘severely disrupted’ and consequently Carrington Street, Station Street and Queen’s Road has been closed.
East Midlands Trains has mentioned that it expects that trains would be disrupted on all routes through Nottingham for the entire Friday that is 12th January.
A spokeswoman of East Midlands Ambulance Service based here has said that a specialist paramedics and a clinical manager were present at the scene of the fire.
