Majority of international tourists arriving in Peru come for vacation purposes, the latest data from Euromonitor International and LatinFocus reveals. Of all the tourists arriving in the country, the purpose of visit for sixty percent is vacation.
The most preferred destinations of visitors are Lima, as well as Southern Cusco and Puno regions. On average, international travellers spend 15.2 nights in the Andean country.
“We know the travel industry at the global level has been increasing at a very fast pace over recent years, and the Peruvian market is not the exception,” said Ezequiel Cademartori, Country Manager for Peru & Bolivia at Amadeus IT Group.
Amadeus provides the technology which keeps the travel sector moving – from initial search to making a booking, from pricing to ticketing, from managing reservations to managing check-in and departure processes.
As for Peruvian citizens, 67% of them search for information before travelling and 34% of them travel alone. Likewise, the report underlined 79% of Peruvian travellers reside in Lima.
