The show will air on the national TV station, Nine Network, this Sunday (29 October). Tourism Ireland in Australia, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI, invited presenters Brodie Harper and Rebecca Judd to come and film here last month.

The episode filmed here will be a half-hour Ireland special, which will also be repeated nationally on the 9Life channel, reaching more than 600,000 viewers in all – or potential Australian holidaymakers. Filming took place in Kerry, Cork, Dublin and Fermanagh, at places like Muckross House & Gardens in Killarney, the Farmgate Café inthe English Market in Cork city, Delphi Antiques in the Powerscourt Centre and at Belle Isle Castle in Fermanagh.

Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia, said: “We are delighted that the Postcards TV show chose to come and film here – it’s the kind of publicity that money simply could not buy and a superb way to highlight the island of Ireland to more than 600,000 Australian travellers, positioning Ireland as a highly desirable place to visit. Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the Australian media of the many things to see and do on a holiday around the island of Ireland.”

In 2016, we welcomed more than 200,000 visitors from Australia and New Zealand to Ireland. Tourism Ireland is determined to ensure that success continues and we have an extensive programme of promotions under way in Australia this autumn – aimed at boosting late-season travel to Ireland and at positioning us well for 2018.
