The authorities had held the girl’s mother, namely Eve Gbeugre, a 27-year-old woman on a bond of $50,000. However, according to the Arapohoe County Sheriff, no charges would be filed against the mother. It was said that the woman would be released from the custody quite soon.
Gbeugre told the police that that she had left her children all alone at home since she was frustrated at their misbehavior and needed a break from them for quite sometime. This is the reason she had gone out for shopping at Wal-Mart for over an hour.
Julie Brooks, spokeswoman , sheriff’s office told the media that investigators firmly believe that none of the family members were at home when the tragic incident occurred.
