A medical team rushed to meet the Boeing 777, Emirates Flight EK 21, which landed at Manchester Airport but unfortunately were unable to save the man.
A spokesman for Manchester Airport said: “Manchester Airport can confirm a passenger sadly passed away on an inbound flight this morning. Anyone with specific enquiries should contact the airline directly.”
Despite the best efforts by the cabin crew members, they couldn’t save the elderly man. He was found unresponsive by cabin crew and no suspicious circumstances were reported. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but there are reports the man was already ill before getting on the flight.
Passengers disembarked from the plane before the man’s body was recovered.
Emirates expressed its condolences to the family.
