7th edition of the ‘International Tourism Mart to start in Tripura

The 7th edition of the ‘International Tourism Mart’ would be commencing from tomorrow, i.e. Thursday. The 3-day tourism is organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and the North Eastern States. The International Tourism Mart is an annual event organized in the north-eastern region for highlighting the tourism potential of the region in the domestic and international markets.

The event is a congregation of tourism business fraternity and entrepreneurs from the eight North Eastern States. The mart been planned and scheduled to facilitate interaction between buyers, sellers, media, government agencies and other stakeholders.

The tourism mart is expected to witness wide participation of international buyers and media delegates from countries around the world and from diverse regions of the country.

A total of 41 foreign delegates from 18 countries and 23 tour operators and travel agents along with 18 media representatives, journalists, travel writers and bloggers are taking part in this edition of the tourism mart.

Besides the foreign delegates, 26 domestic tour operators from other parts of the country and 78 sellers from the north-eastern states are also participating in the tourism mart.
The International Tourism Marts are organized in the North Eastern States on rotation basis. The earlier editions of this mart have been held in Guwahati, Tawang, Shillong, Gangtok and Imphal.
