Family-friendly holiday extravaganza will benefit pediatric programs at Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer CenterThe 8th Annual Georgetown Jingle will take place on December 15, 2013, at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC. The family-friendly holiday extravaganza, hosted each year by Four Seasons and the design community, helps raise funds for Medstar Georgetown University Hospital’s pediatric oncology programs.Since 2006, Washington’s interior design community has come together to support this event. Nationally acclaimed designers will decorate the Lobby of Four Seasons Hotel Washington with a total of 18 holiday-themed trees and vignettes.
Washington, DC designers Shazalynn Cavin-Winfrey and Joe Ireland are the 2013 design chairs and selected, with their committee, the participating designers.This year, renowned designer Alexa Hampton from Mark Hampton, LLC, will decorate the mantle in the Lobby of Four Seasons. Working with an assortment of seasonal décor including floral, antiques and wood workings, Hampton will create a mantle masterpiece will retail for USD 30,000 – all of which will be donated to Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center to benefit pediatric patients. Hampton’s vignette and the 17 Designer Holiday Trees will be on display and available for purchase at Four Seasons beginning December 4, 2013.

The Georgetown Jingle is a wonderful annual holiday event that appeals to both kids and adults alike. This year, the Georgetown Jingle will feature Two Acts. The first act, Holiday Wonderland, is a family-centric afternoon that will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The second act, Anything Can Happen!, is an adult-only cabaret evening that will be held from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.Holiday Wonderland features a transformation of the Lobby at Four Seasons by jingle elves into a magical winter wonderland. Families and children can create holiday crafts with “designer elves” from Claire Schwab Interior Design, Inc., Darlene Molnar LLC, Iantha Carley Interiors, Niermann Weeks, Case Design/Remodeling and Regan Billingsley Interiors, while enjoying festive entertainment by Pamala Stanley, Telly Leung, Santa Claus, Captain America, Spiderman, Frosty the Snowman and more.
Delicious holiday treats will be provided by Georgetown Cupcake, and let’s not forget pictures with Santa, courtesy of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.During the adult-only Second Act, Anything Can Happen!, guests will enjoy live entertainment by the singing sensation Pamala Stanley. Guests will also sample culinary creations and libations from top area chefs and restaurants including Bandolero, Proof/Estadio, Paul’s Bakery, J Pauls, Old Glory, BOURBON STEAK, Georgetown Cupcake, Lebanese Taverna, Teddy’s Lamille, Cava, Dolci Gelato and more. In addition to these gourmet tastings, Four Seasons offers delectable passed hors d’oeuvres and an open bar courtesy of Blue Moon.
The designer-created trees and vignettes are included in the event’s silent auction, along with items from the following categories: great escapes, signed memorabilia, must-have toys, luxury gifts and indulgences, and dine and unwind.Washington-area Toyota dealers, courtesy of DARCARS Automotive Group, donated a Toyota Corolla S, valued at USD 22,000, as the grand prize for this year’s raffle drawing. Raffle tickets are USD 100.00 each, and only 2,000 tickets will be sold. Remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the Georgetown Jingle events. The winning ticket will be selected at the event and the winner will not need to be present to claim the prize.
The Georgetown Jingle benefits the Pediatric Programs at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. The funds raised by the 2012 Jingle have established a pediatric bone marrow transplant unit, in collaboration with Duke University Hospital, funded unique patient rooms that inspire and support the healing process and funded the special initiatives for the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program.The funds raised by the 2013 Georgetown Jingle will continue to support the operational and training facilities for the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.
This year the event expands its support to include the growth of social worker and educator support in the pediatric palliative care program to provide the highest quality of life for children and families throughout the course of illness. The programs are directed by Dr. Aziza Shad, one of the region’s most respected oncologists.Over the past seven years, the Georgetown Jingle has raised more than USD 1.5 million for these pediatric programs. This charitable event helps spotlight childhood cancer, the leading cause of death among US children between infancy and age 15. The 2013 co-chairs are David Herchik, Richard Looman, Joe Bruno and Tim Ragan.
