Abu Dhabi is hoping to attract better tourism prospects by reducing tourism fees.
After a series of meetings and discussions with local investors, the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has agreed to lower tourism fees from 6 percent to 3.5 percent and municipality fees from 4 percent to 2 percent.
Abu Dhabi is aiming to provide high-end tourist, leisure and cultural facilities at the best possible value for its residents and tourists.
The executive committee at the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has also supported the decrease of municipality fees for hotel rooms from USD 4.00 to 12.00 room per night. The fees will also be collected half-yearly, instead of monthly.
The fees reduction comes as part of the Abu Dhabi Development Accelerators Programme launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Abu Dhabi Executive Council is also planning for investment in tourism infrastructure and to attract investors for constructing and developing tourist and entertainment facilities that would add to Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
