As per the figures released by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority the cumulative total for the first seven months was over 2.6 million. A growth of 7 % was maintained on the year.
The report further revealed that in emirate’s 164 hotels in July 396,548 guests checked in and the hotel apartments delivered 928,502 guest nights. From a total of 33,000 available rooms the hotel revenue was AED 327 million ( US $89 million).
Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and Al Dhafra had an increased number of guests along with strong domestic visitors from the UAE. The 138,273 arrivals accounted for 35 percent of visits made in a month.
The key tier one markets of the UK and the USA showed double-digit growth with 28.5% and 20 % increase, reflecting a rise in demand.
China’s phenomenal expansion contributed a monthly comparable increase of 87%.
Saif Saeed Ghobash, director general, TCA Abu Dhabi said that these figures were underpinned due to the launch of a full programme of Abu Dhabi Summer Season events.
There was a growth in visitors from China, UK and the USA for the month of July. The UAE visitor arrival was 138,000 was encouraging.
The Britons reflected a 5.5 per cent growth rate with 136,000 guests arriving from the UK, placing the market third. The Britishers were one of the longest stayers who stayed 3.7 nights on an average.
