Raffles will be a debut luxury brand resort in the Maldives. It is reported that the resort has 37 island and ocean villas placed on the private island of Meradhoo. This is Accor’s first management contract in the Maldives , the property was previously handled by the Dubai’s Jumeriah Group.
By the end of 2018 Accor had planned a renovation before the resort is rebranded as the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort.
Patrick Basset, Accor’s chief operating officer of upper south-east and north-east Asia mentioned that the region is booming with growth with travellers from Asia Pacific. He was thrilled to announce the launch of the first luxury resort in the Maldives.
Accor Hotels will cater to the existing expertise in delivering exceptional luxury experience in the Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel brands.
Located at around 400 kilometres from the capital Male in the southern Maldives, the resort is easily accessible by a 55-minute flight from Male International airport followed by a 15-minute speedboat transfer.
