In a joint declaration made at the same time in two different cities, Adelaide and Guangzhou, China, the Adelaide Convention Bureau has broadcasted the first major incentive tourist group visit in South Australia.
It took place on 17-20 June and 24-27 June respectively. Perfect (China) Co, which is mainly known for herbal health products, kitchenware and personal care items attracted more than 3,000 top sales representatives from the company to Adelaide in two groups. This was the third time the company has selected Australia for such a large size incentive group and their first time to Adelaide.
The Perfect China incentive tour succeeded in adding AUS$11.2m (US$8.9m) to the visitor economy of the state and created and supported more than 110 new job vacancies within the tourism sector.
June was selected as the month is congenial to boost businesses in the traditionally quieter time of the calendar of the visitors. This was the first time a large incentive group visited South Australia from other Asian countries.
Adelaide Convention Bureau created the itinerary for two groups of 1,500 guests visiting Adelaide for three days and two nights working in association with the Perfect China’s agent in Shanghai. The itinerary provided free time to the visitors to discover Adelaide at their leisure providing an opportunity for retailers and the hospitality industry.
