Of late, Aeroflot has extended its code-sharing agreement with SkyTeam alliance partner China Southern Airlines, launching new Australian and NZ destinations for its passengers on routes through Guangzhou.
Also, the SU code of Aeroflot will be placed on its China Southern flights between Guangzhou and Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland respectively. Every day, the Chinese carrier operates two flights to each of the aforesaid destinations. On the said routes, passengers can earn miles on the Aeroflot Bonus programme.
At the end of 2008, the codeshare agreement was signed. Before, it was covered routes between Moscow and Guangzhou, Ürümqi and Wuhan. Dual operation of China Southern flights from Guangzhou to Down Under destinations along with New Zealand provides new chances for passengers of both airlines.
At present, Aeroflot has code-shares with over 30 Russian and international airlines, adding extra 19 countries to the 51 served by its own route network.
