Singapore Airlines’ inaugural long-haul flight for the newly-connected aircraft flew from Singapore to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
Through this partnership, Singapore Airlines’ customers will be able to use their own mobile devices inflight just as they would on the ground. Further A350s entering the Airline’s fleet will be fitted with the 3G inflight connectivity service.
Singapore Airlines already offers inflight mobile connectivity on selected A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs and this shows their commitment to offering customers connectivity on board.
Kevin Rogers, CEO of AeroMobile, said that, they’re excited to be expanding their current connected fleet with their first ever A350. Asia is a key area of growth for them and they’re pleased Singapore Airlines continues to see the value of facilitating inflight connectivity for its customers.
AeroMobile is a registered mobile network operator which provides technology that allows the safe use of passengers’ own mobile phones onboard aircraft. The company has roaming agreements with over 335 network operators globally in more than 145 countries.
The service is easy to use, passengers simply turn on their mobile device to connect to the network and are billed directly by their mobile operator in the same way as roaming abroad.
