Later this year South Africa would be welcoming its most amazing adventure activity as South Africa Forest Adventures is all set to launch its new Kranshoek zipline. The 4km zipline tour is set to boost tourism for Knysna, Plettenburg bay and Garden Route. The proposed tour will last about 2 hours and have guest zipline on cables as long as 800meters per cable and as high as 300meters above the forest canopy floor.
SA Forest Adventures were awarded the tender from San Parks to install and operate the activity within the Garden Route National park. Adventure seekers can currently plan a bucket list of adventure activities along the garden route itself. From Bloukrans Bungy, the world’s highest commercial bungee bridge to the longest zipline tour, sandboarding and quad biking, adventure travellers can do it all just along one route – the Garden Route.
Earlier this year, South Africa forest Adventures also launched its Cape Adventure Day package keeping in mind the price sensitive Indian traveller. The 8 hour day tour package includes adventure activities such as tree top zipline, sandboard, quad biking along the mountains and vineyards, a visit to the African (or Jackass) Penguins’ at Stony Point and the coastal town of Hermanus. The highlight of this one day tour, is the ‘Clarence Drive’, one of the most scenic roads in the world! This beautiful, coastal drive of over 22 km, hugging the wild turquoise Cape coastline all the way offers tourists the luxury of viewing scenic points and an opportunity to spot whales and dolphins. The package also includes lunch at a sea side restaurant and a pick drop from one’s hotel in Cape Town too.
According to Clinton Lerm, owner SA Forest Adventures, the increasing number of travellers arriving in South Africa from India and the rise in the demand for travel they had started their Indian office this year. This permits their Indian agents to enjoy the flexibility to check on the availability and also book instantly too.
He added that this year they are ready to open Africa’s longest zipline in Knysna, which will be approx. 4km. They are very excited to introduce this new adventure activity under their umbrella and are sure it will be a good product for their Indian experiential travellers. Earlier this year, they had also launched an exclusive Cape Adventure Day tour package for India which seen a good response from travel agents. They also have a huge array of adventure activities that one could choose from such as quad biking, ziplining in Cape Town as well as Hermanus, sand boarding, river rafting and more. With its close proximity from Cape Town, all of these activities are a surreal for those visiting on a tight schedule.
He further mentioned that this year’s edition of Indaba welcomed over 7000 delegates from across the world, which indeed made it a successful show. They had over twenty agents from India and were happy to see the keen interest and knowledge of the African tourism products at hand from their Indian agents.
