Around 4,000 passengers in Royal Caribbean’s MS Adventure of the Seas will be welcomed in the St.Croix in the US Virgin Islands that will be docked at the Ann Abramson pier in Frederiksted on Sunday.
After escaping Hurricane Irma and despite the initial power outages the island is now ready to welcome visitors as the hotels are up and running mentioned Beverly Nicholson-Doty, the commissioner of tourism.
The availability of St.Croix was critically important as the department of tourism’s sales and marketing teams have already strategically positioned St.Croix in the marketplace.
The marketing strategy shifted its focus on St.Croix while St.Thomas and St.John was being rebuilt the commissioner mentioned. The economic activity from the visitors of St.Croix along with some relief help and construction will help St.Thomas and St.John to recover.
The commissioner further added that tourism being an important industry in the US Virgin Islands will depend on the people to revitalise the economy and support the residents across both the districts.
