In 2016 this airline is the first operator of this type in the region and the fleet is expected to grow to 17 aircraft by 2017.
Six A320neo , seven A321neo and four A321neoLR types will be operated by the flag-carrier of Kazakhastan.
In accordance with the agreement signed for 11 aircraft and six aircraft in 2017 the aircraft will be acquired on an operating lease basis.
There will be an overall increase in capacity by up to 40 percent over the next three years with the delivery of the new generation A320 neofamily aircraft.
There will be a boost in frequencies of the existing routes while the aircraft will also be deployed on new services to CIS and Asia.
Peter Foster, chief executive, Air Astana Air said that the carrier has plans to grow the fleet to more than 60 aircraft over the next ten years.
