A new airline has joined the fold at Hamburg Airport as of today: Air Serbia. Today, the Serbian carrier celebrates the maiden flight on its new route from Hamburg to the Serbian capital, Belgrade. Belgrade is returning to Hamburg Airport’s route network after a long absence, giving passengers an even greater choice of destinations in eastern Europe. Flights to Belgrade are operated four times per week, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Departure times from Hamburg are 10:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday, and8:50 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday.
“We are delighted to welcome Air Serbia as a new airline for Hamburg Airport. Belgrade is a destination that has not been on offer as a direct route from Hamburg for a long time. We are thus further extending the variety in our route network and enhancing our comprehensive portfolio of flights to eastern Europe,” says Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport.
“We are excited to commence air services to Hamburg Airport, whose famous old port districts and canals are now within easy reach for our leisure travellers. Our four weekly Hamburg flights will give passengers multiple flight options each week and are designed to meet the significant summer travel demand to this great city, which is the eleventh German destination in our flight network. Germany is an important market for Air Serbia and we look forward to working with our travel trade partners and fellow member airlines of Etihad Airways Partners, especially airberlin, to enhance our presence and travel offering,” says Dane Kondić, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia.
