AirAsia Bhd has commenced inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kaohsiung, Taiwan with a healthy 99 per cent flight load. In a statement, AirAsia said the flight departed at 0830 hours and arrived at Kaohsiung International Airport at 1300 hours.
“The flight load from Kaohsiung to KL also recorded an encouraging record of 82 per cent,” it said.
Currently, AirAsia said, it was offering promotional all-in-fares from as low as RM199 one way from KL-Kaohsiung to commemorate this successful inaugural flight.
“The guests are able to book from today until July 19, 2015 for the immediate travel period from now until Sept 30, 2015.
“All promotional fares can be booked online at airasia.com as well as via AirAsia’s mobile apps on iPhone and Android devices, and also AirAsia’s mobile site at mobile.airasia.com,” it said.
AirAsia Head of Commercial, Spencer Lee, said it was important for the airline to continue to grow its network and expand its connectivity.
“We are proud to connect both the north and south of Taiwan directly to KL, which is our biggest hub, offering our guests to over 20 countries throughout the region,” he said.
Hsu Chuan-Sheng, Director-General of Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau, said tourists from South-East Asia remained the third biggest source of visitors into Taiwan while the number of Taiwanese tourists to Malaysia averaged at about 200,000 year.
“This shows the tremendous potential in tourism industry between Taiwan and Malaysia,” he said.
