A4A travelAirlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today commended Senate passage of the long-term extension authorizing the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) charter through September 30, 2017. The measure, which has cleared both chambers of Congress with bipartisan support, now heads to the President’s desk to be signed into law. A4A issued the following statement:

“We applaud passage of the extension, which reflects Congress’s bipartisan commitment to building consensus on a comprehensive FAA bill that delivers real benefits to the traveling public. U.S. airlines serve 2.2 million customers on 27,000 flights each day – and every effort must be made to modernize our nation’s skies, which would have the greatest impact on consumers, by reducing delays, adding routes and improving safety. A4A remains committed to working with the Administration, Congress and all stakeholders to deliver the transformational ATC reform that airline customers across the country deserve.”
