Foreign ministers of Comoros, La Reunion, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles made a decision in Madagascar’s capital that airlines in Indian Ocean countries and regions will be grouped in an alliance called “Vanilla Alliance” from June.
Agreement of the alliance will be signed on June 18 in Madagascar by Air Austral, Air Madagascar, Air Mauritius, Air Seychelles and the Comorian airline EWA Air.
The alliance is aimed at improving inter-island air services, Madagascar’s foreign minister Atallah Beatrice said.
The agreement will include nine areas of cooperation, allowing one flight per day between members of the Indian Ocean Commission.
