Airlines industry in Thailand sees a major loss

Thailand-Airline-Industry1-300x188The profit of the airlines industry has seen a major loss for the fierce competition, high jet fuel price, lower fares and the increased excise taxation on the jet fuel.



All these factors are attributed for the dragging down of the financial performances of the flights, even though the air traffic in Thailand is rapidly increasing.



The financial performances of those in SET listed airlines, more than 6.4 billion baht in total was in the sharp contrast with the rest of the world.



The second quarter of the financial report published in June for the four SET listed airlines was weak with lowering profits.



But the disastrous performances of the flights in April-June period, in term of the amount of the loss taken were Thai Airways International while Asia Aviation Plc (AAV) was remained in a profitable situation.



As expected, NOK Airlines was in widely expected loss, while the financial loss of the Bangkok Airways’ was surprising wider than it is projected.
