Before jetting off to one of the airport’s 170 destinations, flipping crazy passengers helped raise cash for the charity CLIC Sargent, tossing their pancakes to see how many flips they could notch up in one minute.
The event, organised jointly by the airport and J.D. Wetherspoons, attracted dozens of game for a laugh passengers eager to demonstrate their prowess with a frying pan.
The winner of the two hour challenge was stylish flipper Claire Stancliffe, travelling to Seville for a football tournament with St Johns Deaf FC, who was adjudged to rack up the most flips. Claire received shopping vouchers in recognition of her efforts.
Michael Wilkins, Pub Manager at J.D.Wetherspoon, said: “We were delighted to be involved with such a fun event and it was great that money was raised for our wonderful charity CLIC Sargent.”
Viv Bambrough, Stansted Airport’s Terminal Co-ordinator and chair of the airport’s charity committee, said: “Both passengers and staff had a brilliant time, and, to top it all off, we managed to raise money for a fabulous charity.”
