In an effort to boost sustainable tourism, an Ajman Visitors’ Guide in Braille has been launched by the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD). the guides are written in English and Arabic in collaboration with Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs in Abu Dhabi.
It aims at assisting tourists and residents who are blind or visually impaired to get information on tourist destinations when visiting the emirate.
The Ajman Visitors’ Guide has been announced following directions of His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman.
Braille is the tactile writing system used by the blind and visually impaired.
