The tourism agency of Alabama is endorsing sequence of walking tours that will commence in the coming month in all the large as well as small cities across the state.
Around 30 communities in Alabama are providing free, hour-long walks which are going to start from April 7th.
Community leaders will carry on walking tours in some of the historic areas with starting points like the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Huntsville’s Constitution Village, the History Museum of Mobile and the Montgomery Area Visitor Center.
In smaller towns like Athens, Bayou La Batre, Eutaw, Eufaula and Monroeville tours will be organized. The Alabama Tourism Department says over 35,000 people have took part in the walking tours since the program initiated 15 years back.
