Albania naturally comes to the minds of vacationers if they are looking for a vice holiday. However, data shows that in order to formalize the tourism market of Albania, hotels are being codified and growth is promoted by hunting for overseas investment.
The Ministry of Economy and Tourism is now keen to focus on upward trend. To quote a ministry source, ‘The increase in income from tourism makes us believe that Albania is becoming a competitive country for tourism in the region.’ Albania profited of 1.5 billion euros last year alone from tourism, as per Albania’s Central Bank report.
Albania earned around 1.35 billion euros from tourism as per the calculations of the Bank in 2015. So, an increase of 13 percent in just a year time is considered vital, netting the country around 150 million euros superfluous.
Though, in the current context, unverified rating of hotels and other accommodation-related issues are the major challenges the country is facing. A group of executives from the ministry has been assigned to confirm how accurate the standards that hotels declare online in actuality are. Albania will be organizing its first Mediterranean Fair this month where an offer displayed by tourism will be more extensive than ever before.
