Allegiant today celebrates its debut in Akron / Canton with the launch of ultra-low-cost service to Tampa / St. Pete and Savannah / Hilton Head, offering Northeast Ohio travelers nonstop access to two premier vacation destinations. The airline, known for its affordable and convenient travel deals, is offering one-way introductory fares as low as $73*.
“Allegiant is very excited to be starting flights from Akron / Canton,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Travel Company senior vice president of planning. “Northeast Ohio travelers will now have even more ways to save on vacation travel, including the region’s only nonstop service to Savannah / Hilton Head.”
The new flights to Tampa / St. Pete operate three times weekly between Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE). Summer seasonal flights to Savannah / Hilton Head also operate three times weekly through Aug. 15 to the Savannah / Hilton Head International Airport (SAV).
“Beginning today, Allegiant offers nonstop flights to Northeast Ohio‘s favorite vacation destinations,” said Rick McQueen, Akron-Canton Airport president and CEO. “We are off to a great start and are excited about their future at CAK. Needless to say, we are thrilled to welcome Allegiant to Akron-Canton Airport.”
Allegiant’s innovative business model has allowed it to grow from one plane and one route to offering access to low-cost flights in over 100 cities nationwide, more than any other domestic low-cost carrier. Allegiant passengers can enjoy unique savings by bundling their air, hotel, car and even activity and attraction reservations together for less.
