|The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 15.4 million passengers in November, down 1.1% or 172,000 less passengers from the previous year.
Traffic (RPK) grew 2.9% and capacity (ASK) increased 3.9%, bringing down the load factor to 78.8%, 0.7 percentage point lower than in November 2014.
Year-to-date, the number of passengers carried from January to November increased 3.9% versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 170.9 million passengers, or 6.4 million more passengers vs. January-November 2014. During the aforementioned period, traffic (RPK) rose 5.9%, capacity (ASK) increased 5.5%, and the passenger load factor reached 79.7%, 0.3 percentage point higher than the previous year.
Freight ton kilometers declined 7.3% in November and 7.5% year to date.
