AmaWaterways announced today that it has received five prestigious 2017 Travel WeeklyMagellan Awards. The annual awards are determined by a panel of travel industry experts selected by Travel Weekly, honoring the best in travel. The newest edition to its fleet, AmaKristina, took the top GOLD spot in two Luxury Ship categories celebrating the innovative, signature design features of the Chef’s Table specialty restaurant and the twin-balcony adjoining staterooms. This was in addition to the SILVER Award AmaKristina received in the coveted Overall River Cruise Ship category. Rounding off this year’s list of accolades was a GOLD Award for AmaWaterways Wine Cruises and SILVER for its African Safari program.
“The AmaWaterways family is honored and extremely grateful to have received these awards from Travel Weekly,” said Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways’ executive vice president and co-owner. “We are particularly proud this year of the GOLD Award for our Wine Cruises. We have 50 Wine Cruises scheduled for 2018 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our wine hosts for sharing their passion and expertise with our guests during these exceptional river cruises.”
Accommodating the growing demand from multigenerational travelers, AmaKristina’s design features, reflected also in sister ships AmaViola and AmaStella, demonstrate AmaWaterways continued leadership in river cruise innovation. Other features, including the expanded offering of biking and hiking tours and newly introduced Wellness Program, continue to attract the health-conscious and active river cruise clients.
The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards add to the celebration of AmaWaterways 15th year anniversary. Other notable wins this year include Best Cruise Line from Virtuoso and being named The American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) 2017 River Cruise Line Partner of the Year.
