Of late, there have been several complaints against airlines especially after the seat spacing in the economy section was cramped, passenger fees were hiked and the mood of the crew members had gone sour.
However, currently, the U.S. carriers are making attempts to improve the in flight ambiance by offering free food and drinks.
American Airlines has declared that it has started offering free spirits to its passengers on the economy sections particularly on the international flights to and from Japan. It implies that the air travellers on these flights would be able to order gin, vodka and other hard drinks along with the wine and beer that was already offered free of cost.
This Fort Worth-based air carrier has been offering free spirits to economy travellers aboard international flights to and from Sydney in Australia and Auckland in New Zealand.
This expansion comes as the sale of spirits continue to expand in the United States, rising to reach $25.2 billion in the year 2016 and stealing the market share for seven years from beer.
United Airlines is jumping on the bandwagon with deep dish pizza on its platters that would be served on board the menu from Saturday onwards. The other menu items comprise tapas snack box and egg white flatbread. Jimmy Samartzis who is the vice president of United said that since their customers have mentioned that they crave for pizza, they have decided to introduce this special treat on their flights.
