The American Cruise Lines recently introduced its full Travel Advisor Assurance Plan. The travel advisory plan arrives following American Cruise’s voluntary decision to suspend all its cruise operations through April 30th 2020. The suspension happened due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the new plan provides assurance from American Cruises about the protection of Travel Advisor commissions. The commissions would be granted for bookings affected by the deadly coronavirus.

This new option will offer guests the flexibility to handle all new and existing bookings on cruises departing through August 31, 2020. Guests that opt for this offer will have the choice of cancellation for any reason. The bookings can be canceled up to 24-hours before to the start of their Cruise Package and journey. Once the cancellation is made, passengers will receive Cruise Vouchers that would equal to 100% of the amount paid for their booking.

A full cash-back refund or Cruise Vouchers equal to 125% of all amounts paid would be provided to guests who have bookings on any cruises that have been suspended by the American. The cruise lines have been constantly reaching out to guests and travel advisors directly about their options for cruises suspended due to the COVID-19 virus spread.

A complete commission protected Cruise Vouchers would be issued to advisor commissions impacted by either Cruise with Comfort or suspended operations. Commissions will be paid based on the original sailing date for any payments made toward commissionable items.

Susan Shultz, Vice President of Trade Relations, American Cruise Lines said in a recent press statement that travel advisor partners have appreciated our commission policy because it compensates them for their efforts, sooner than later. She also mentioned that Cruise with Comfort has helped advisors sell because it allows guests the ability to cancel their cruise up to 24-hours before the journey begins.

Charles B. Robertson, President, and CEO, American Cruise Lines further added that over the past year, the company has worked consistently to offer the most competitive travel advisor programs in the industry. He also mentioned that most changes have been well received because they give guests the confidence to book travel. He also said that it provides advisors prompt compensation for their efforts. He concluded that advisors reinforce the strength of the company as well as their commitment guests.
