According to the spokeswoman of Amtrak, Vernae Graham, the train was carrying 43 passengers and three crew members while the accident occurred.
The Sheriff’s office informed that the crash took place near the Ehlen Road and the First Street in Aurora.
According to Lt. Chris Baldridge of the Sheriff’s Office, the truck was travelling east on First Street in Aurora, when it was forced to stop on the tracks due to heavy traffic while the passenger train was heading toward Seattle from Eugene.
Baldridge also informed that the authorities were thinking of sending the passengers of the train to Portland by bus. Those, who were travelling to Seattle or any other destination, had to catch another train to reach their destination.
It was found that the crash did not affect any other Amtrak train departures.
None of the passengers or the crew members was found to be severely injured in the crash.
