The government of Andhra Pradesh is all set to promote its culture and tourism in full swing. It is planning to introduce tourism festivals across the state. It will start from the month of September of this year. It is most probably to commence from Dasara and will carry on till Sankranti, in which thousands of artistes and cultural programs have been designed to lure visitors as well as locals.
More than Rs 65 crore has been allotted by the government for conducting tourism festival in attractively. Side by side, officials of the culture and tourism department have been directed to make sure the festival succeeds. It would be held at Amaravati, Anantapur, Rajamahendravaram and Tirupati, where different events like culture, heritage, sports, music and dance programs etc.
As per the secretary to culture and tourism department, Mukesh Kumar Meena, the festival take place in a massive way at Amaravati, the capital city for the first time. “Events will be conducted for 19 days, for which the government has released Rs 17 crore. We have commenced tourism festivals across the state basing on the advance preparation of calendar year, which will be very helpful to the tourists, who can make arrangements in advance,” Meena said.
The dates for Buddhism festival is yet to be finalized as will be conducted for two days. Literature Fest and Thought Leadership (October 19-22) Fest, Theatre Fest (September 15-17), Regatta Championship, a maritime boat display and riverine sports (January 26-28), Amaravati Music and Dance Festival (December 12-16), Youtube awards for Social Media Entrepreneurship will take place for two days as their dates have to be finalized yet.
