The tourism, culture and heritage committee of Andhra Pradesh government has recently urged the Union government to grant permission to different tourism projects in the state. The committee put forward proposals to Centre in order to obtain permission from the departments of tourism and archaeology.
The nine projects comprise growth and expansion of Bhavani Island, Araku eco-tourism circuit, entertainment structures in River Krishna, luxury beach resorts at Kalingapatnam, Madhurawada tourism project, mega Silparamam in Amaravati and INS Virat Museum. Also, the state tourism department has asked for financial support from the Centre for different tourism projects.
As per the officials, state government proposed tourism projects will require the consent of the departments of Central Government. Bhavani Island requires an environmental clearance to introduce different tourism projects. Besides, the government also plans to develop cottages along with floating hotels on River Krishna.
In the same way, the tourism department has strategies to construct tourism project in Madhurawada in Visakapatnam. For this purpose, over 240 acres land has been identified. Also, the state government has secured the clearance from defense ministry in order to entrust INS Virat warship to the state government for utilizing it as a hotel as well as a museum and also hotel. Now, the state government is making efforts to get clarity for securing sanction.
