At ITB Berlin 2019, Apratim Ghoshal, Editor, Travel And Tour World had an exclusive conversation with Jaykumar Guntupalli, Special Representative – Europe, Tourism & Culture; Government of Andhra Pradesh.
He tells us that tourists are coming to Andhra Pradesh from Europe including Germany and U.K. Other significant inbound tourist destinations from Europe are Sweden, Denmark, and Switzerland.
Andhra Pradesh is a newly formed state and is not to be confused with Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh has 974 kms of coastline, and 17 beaches. They have 3 international airports and 7 other airports to connect to the rest of the world. Andhra Pradesh tourism is based on coastline, greenery, cuisine, temples and more. Some of their important festivals include Ugadi, Sankranti, and Diwali.
GDP growth of Andhra Pradesh is 13.5 per cent compared to any other state. In terms of ‘Ease of doing business’, it is ranked No. 1 in the entire India. The state has become prominent place for IT companies to establish.
