On the other hand, TravelBird, the online travel company, have disclosed the Most Instagrammed Tourist Attractions in the country. This shortlist was based on the number of tags on the social media platform. Anfield was third with 420,290 tags, while Big Ben in London received 2,561,617 posts and Buckingham Palace 586,990. Anfield had the highest number of pictures than other destinations such as Stonehenge (370,530), New Forest (287,818), Edinburgh Castle (228,084) and Windermere (215,064) respectively.
Side by side, TravelBird also came up with the most Instagrammed global destinations – according to the study ranking 470 attractions in many countries worldwide. The universally recognized Disneyland, California tops the global list (14,615,952 tags), followed by Paris’ Eiffel Tower (7,253,011). Globally, Big Ben, London ranked 7th (2,561,617), just ahead of Times Square, New York in 8th position (2,560,272).
TravelBird also pointed out that the results show in detail observation of the most sought-after travel spots in the United Kingdom, with two attractions from every region of the UK.
